1. The Service

Kaagaz is a personal document management service designed to help individuals and families organize, store, view, and retrieve documents using a familiar, WhatsApp-style interface with voice and text capabilities.

2. Your Ownership of Documents

You own all rights to your documents. We claim no intellectual property rights or ownership over any documents, images, text, notes, or files you store in Kaagaz. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to store any documents you upload.

3. Responsibility for Your 5-Word Recovery Code

Because Kaagaz utilizes zero-knowledge encryption for personal backups, you are solely responsible for safely recording and keeping your 5-word recovery phrase. If you lose this recovery phrase and lose access to your device, your encrypted cloud backup cannot be recovered by anyone, including Kaagaz customer support.

4. Permitted Use

• You agree to use Kaagaz only for lawful personal and family document management purposes.
• You agree not to upload fraudulent, defamatory, or unlawful materials.
• You agree not to reverse engineer or tamper with the security keys and encryption mechanisms of the app.

5. Shared Folders & Trusted Access

Kaagaz allows you to share folders with family members and designated helpers. You acknowledge that anyone you invite into a shared folder will have permission to view, save, and add documents within that specific folder. Only share with individuals you know and trust.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

Kaagaz is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we employ rigorous local-first storage, hardware encryption, and robust backup protocols, we strongly recommend keeping physical originals of critical statutory documents (such as passports, title deeds, and legal certificates).

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of India. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
